Welcome to Heart of Hospice

Thank you very much for your interest in Heart of Hospice. Our agency began providing palliative and hospice care in this community over 3 years ago. We are both proud and appreciative that so many patients, families, nurses, social workers and physicians have entrusted us with the unbelievable responsibility of caring for these patients and their loved ones.

Understanding the importance of this responsibility, Heart of Hospice has made it a point to employ individuals who have the specific experience needed and share the same philosophies essential for providing such an important service to our community. Our agency has over a combined 50 years of experience in hospice and palliative care and many team members have been with us since the early stages of company’s inception. We are very proud of our employee retention rate and lack of turnover. We credit this to the agency’s management and employees’ universal belief in our mission to “provide the highest quality of care and support to terminally ill patients and their loved ones, through team-oriented organization and education.”

For over 3 years, Heart of Hospice has provided this care to patients and families throughout the Southshore of greater New Orleans. Eventhough we are licensed to provide care on the Northshore, we prefer to limit our coverage area to the parishes of Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, Plaquemine, St. Charles, and St. John Parishes. We feel this allows us to respond much more quickly to the needs of our patients, families and community. We allow our better-suited sister company, Lakeshore Hospice, to care for our patients on the Northshore of Lake Ponchatrain. Lakeshore Hospice covers St. Tammany, Washington, and Livinston Parishes.

Heart of Hospice is very proud that we have been able to provide these services to our community for such a long time. We’re also confident that our continued success is a result of our dedication to always “go the extra mile” for our patients, caregivers and our referring entities. And although we are certified Medicare, Medicaid, and Blue Cross, we understand that it is our responsibility to care for indigent patients when we are capable.
